Buying a Place

Thanks to Lemuel Craft

My parents have always been overprotective of me, so I wasn’t surprised that when I bought my new house they wanted to be involved. I am single, so it wasn’t bad to have a few extra eyes with me when I was house hunting. I know they think that I am naïve, but I actually think I did a great job in choosing a place and getting a great deal. My parents came along to look at places with me, but I was the one who did all of the work and negotiation with my real estate broker. The official closing for the house is next week, and it is very exciting. Of course my parents are butting in sand lecturing me about how I need to get ADT security Ontario, and make certain repairs. I can’t wait to be out of their house and in my own. I am so ready to be free of my parents’ nagging and constant opinions. I love them dearly, but it is time for me to move on and have my own space. I will still be close to them, but I think they will back off after I leave their house.

Ways to save money

It's so easy to say try to save but if you do not make that much money to begin with, where do you start? Make a list of things that you don't really need and can live without. LIke cable...do you really need all those channels? with the internet and Netflix you can find other ways for entertainment. Instead of buying books, go to your library. There are many good selections and updated books that can be found in your local library. Walk whenever you can instead of taking the bus or train. Not only does this save money but you can also shed some pounds while you are at it. Cook meals and eat at home. Do not spend money on take out no matter how tempting it is. Find a way to cook meals and save for later.

How to get rid of Clutter

I have a hard time de-cluttering my home. Between the kids and my husband, we tend to not throw stuff away. Now is the time for spring cleaning and have found that trying to do everything at once makes you mot want to do anything at all and just give up. Pick a room and start there first and take small breaks. This way you are not overwhelmed with the task at hand and how hard it is going to be once you get started. Also make bags and piles of what stuff you are going to keep and get rid. DO not be like me and find a reason to hold on to everything. If you ave not used it or worn it in a year, do you really need it?

Going to College

Authored by Raymond Whitney

I just moved back to Arkansas for college. My family moved away my senior year of high school, which totally sucked. As soon as I graduated, I packed things up to get right back to my friends in Arkansas and go to college with them. Some of my friends are living in dorms, but my best friend and I are getting an apartment together. We have been having the best time decorating, and buying things for our place. It almost feels like I am “playing house,” like I did when I was a kid. I can’t believe I have my own apartment. My roommate’s parents gave us their old flat-screen tv, which is so sweet. We got DIRECT TV FAYETTEVILLE for it, so when we aren’t studying, we can chill in front of the tv together. I am so excited about this new chapter in my life. High School, especially that last year, was really hard for me. I think I was just ready to spread my wings.

VISITING LA

Guest post from: Bruno Smith

I went to visit my good friend Maggie. She just moved to LA from the East Coast two years ago. I have only been out there to visit her once! I had so much fun when I went to see her. She had some really great friends and showed me all of the cool places around town. We ate at some really great places. I got to see the Hollywood sign, go to Beverly Hills, and see the Hollywood Stars. I got a picture with my hand in Marilyn’s star. Our hands were a perfect match! It was just fabulous! We stayed in her apartment. It was in a little bit of a rough neighborhood, but her landlord included a California home Security system in the price of rent every month. The coolest thing about her little apartment was that you could quickly catch the bus and that there was the greatest little Chinese place right around the corner. We picked up Chinese three times during my visit. It was really that good. The best spring rolls and wonton soup that I have ever had in my whole life. I can’t wait to go back and visit soon!
